Captain Jennifer Casey of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds || In Memoriam
We created this little montage to pay our respects for the tragic loss of Captain Jennifer Casey of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.
The Snowbirds are officially known as 431 Air Demonstration Squadron and are the military aerobatics or air show flight demonstration team of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Captain Casey died in a crash May 17, 2020, shortly after taking off from the Kamloops Airport in British Columbia, Canada. Captain Casey was accompanied in the plane with Captain Richard MacDougall, who suffered severe, but non-life threatening injuries. The plane encountered some sort of mechanical failure, causing it to stall and both occupants had to eject. Due to a lack of altitude their parachute systems did not have enough time to fully deploy.
Our hearts go out to the families of both Captains, their friends and colleagues who work so closely with them on the Team. We wish Captain MacDougall a full recovery from this horrific incident. Thank you all for your Service to our Country.
